Tales from the Table: Reis-Nichols Jewelers

Reis-Nichols, a family-owned and operated jeweler, believes strongly in giving back to the Indianapolis community. Over the past 10 years, they have been involved with Second Helpings as one way to do just that. According to Cindy Nichols, Vice President of Reis-Nichols Jewelers, Second Helpings is clearly one of her staff’s favorite nonprofits to volunteer their time. The employees even receive paid time off to volunteer in the Second Helpings kitchen.

Tales from the Table: Reis-Nichols Jewelers

This local jewelry store has donated over $80,000 through their Watch Battery Charity Program to Second Helpings. Customers can bring in just about any watch and they will change the battery in under 10 minutes right in-store. In return, the customers are asked to make a donation to that month’s Watch Battery Charity Program. The hours spent working alongside other Second Helpings volunteers and the money donated still does not cover their generous contribution. Reis-Nichols has also donated two delivery and food rescue vehicles dedicated to serving Indianapolis! The entire Reis-Nichols Jewelers family share that they have felt so blessed to support the cause to end hunger in their community.

Beyond the regular volunteer service, food rescue vehicles, and ongoing donations through the watch program, Reis-Nichols is also integral to the success of Second Helpings’ annual Corks & Forks fundraiser. Each year, Reis-Nichols donates a pair of jewelry items that attendees attempt to win via the “Hot 100” promotion. Are you inspired by Reis-Nichols’ commitment to fight hunger in Central Indiana?
