Second Helpings offers a free Culinary Job Training program available to unemployed and underemployed adults in Central Indiana. Each step in the program is designed to secure employment upon graduation. These skills extend beyond the kitchen, to provide a foundation for what it takes to be a great employee.

Each Culinary Job Training student is provided with uniforms, transportation, textbooks and other assistance so they can concentrate on their training with fewer distractions. Students can expect homework each night, plus quizzes and tests.

The class is led by two professional Chefs on staff, as well as guest instructors who come straight from the industry to teach specialty skills.

Our Culinary Job Training program offers skills beyond the kitchen, too. Each student receives financial literacy training and wrap-around services.  Students also receive in-house job placement assistance from our staff Employment Specialist.

Each Culinary Job Training graduate is eligible for 5 credit hours from the culinary program at Ivy Tech Community College and ServSafe Certification.
