Linda Broadfoot

  • What inspires you most about Second Helpings’ mission? With the seemingly simple act of keeping food out of the landfill, we are not only helping keep our planet healthy, we are providing vital meals to those who need them. By providing the most basic need, food, we are eliminating one barrier from folks’ daily lives, allowing them to focus on other things they need.
  • What’s something you like to do outside of work? Hiking with my wonderful husband Jeff and adorable dog Lincoln. Frequenting local food and beverage purveyors. Spending quality time with our amazing friends.

Food Rescue & Transportation Team

This team rescues food from donors across central Indiana, runs our warehouse, and delivers meals to our partner organizations. Learn more about donating food or hosting a food drive.

Hunger Relief Team

Our Hunger Relief team leads our volunteers in preparing more than 5,000 meals every day. Learn about becoming a partner organization and receive meals for your program.

  • What inspires you most about Second Helpings’ mission? I find inspiration in the resourcefulness and dedication exhibited by our diligent staff and volunteers. Second Helpings is not only addressing the immediate needs of individuals in our community by providing nutritious meals but also offering valuable culinary job training.
  • What’s something you like to do outside of work? I’m really into sound design and audio engineering, and you’ll often find me gaming. I also have a passion for cooking and enjoy experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.

  • What inspires you most about Second Helpings’ mission? Absolutely everything about this place lights my spirit on fire. Being able to understand our partner agencies’ needs and provide them with the resources they need to feed their communities is an honor. I am just very grateful to be part of it all.
  • What’s something you like to do outside of work? I have a small woodworking business and it is a very important creative outlet for me. I also love gardening and spending time with my family and neighbors playing board games.

  • What’s something you like to do outside of work? I love to read, paint, swim, and just enjoy time with my family and friends.

  • What inspires you most about Second Helpings’ mission? The sheer efficiency inspires me. The ability to use donated food and volunteer hours to provide free nutrition, served at existing non-profits located in the areas with the greatest needs, where more than 100 local nonprofits’ cost savings result in more services or higher quality services for our community, is amazing!
  • What’s something you like to do outside of work? Spending time with my grandkids, gardening, and reading historical fiction.
