Souper Bowls 2016: A Community Event to Benefit Second Helpings

It’s a benefit like no other in the city — a chance to sample soups from some of the city’s well-known chefs and an opportunity to buy handmade ceramic bowls from local artists. It’s Souper Bowls, fundraiser for Second Helpings, the food rescue, hunger relief and culinary job training organization in Central Indiana.

On Saturday, January 30th, nearly a dozen local chefs gather to compete for a trophy and bragging rights as the Second Helpings Souper Bowls champion. Each chef will offer a new, unique soup recipe for tasting, and attendees can vote on their favorite soup. The votes will be tallied and the winning chef will be announced that day at 1:45 p.m.

Who is participating so far? The list is below, but more to come:

During the tasting, hand-crafted ceramic bowls from local artists will be up for sale. The ceramic bowls are donated and all proceeds will go to Second Helpings. For the last several years, this event has raised more than $6,000 for hunger relief in Central Indiana.
