A Gift that Keeps Giving: A special night with Bruno Mars

In early March, we hosted our annual Corks & Forks fundraiser at Banker’s Life Fieldhouse. One of the big ticket items in the auction this year was an exclusive suite package for the Bruno Mars “24K Magic” tour that rolled through Indy on Sunday evening.

The concert package was purchased by Matt Lutz and his wife Amy. The generous purchase allowed Second Helpings to send thousands of meals into the Indianapolis community through our food rescue and hunger relief programs. What we didn’t know at the time was that was just the beginning of the good that the Lutz family would accomplish with the purchase.

Rather than keep all of the concert fun for their friends and family, the Lutz’s chose instead to pay it forward. To fill up their suite, the Lutz’s extended an invite to patients from Riley Children’s Hospital and Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital. Judging from the pictures, it looks like the evening with Bruno Mars was a fabulous time for everyone in attendance.

The gift the Lutz family bestowed upon Second Helpings is already being put to use in Central Indiana. We are humbled by the fact that these generous supporters chose to extend that gift to the kids at Riley and St. Vincent. Join us in celebrating their generosity by sharing this post and spreading the huge impact this family has provided the Indianapolis community.
