Second Helpings Reopens After Storm

Second Helpings will reopen Thursdsay, December 27th. While road conditions have improved since the recent snowstorm hit Central Indiana, volunteers are asked to travel with extreme caution. For those volunteers scheduled in for shifts but can’t make it in, that’s okay. We’d rather you be safe than travel in dangerous conditions. Volunteers who need to… Continue reading.

What Happens When Second Helpings Closes?

Ever wanted to watch the students learning knife skills, check our coolers, or peek in the back of one of our food rescue trucks? Now you… Continue reading.

For insurance reasons, we can’t bring our kids to help in the kitchen or deliver food. But one thing that kids can do (sometimes better than the adults)… Continue reading.

Emily Dant: Young Hunger Fighter

It started in first grade. My parents had called my brother, sister and me to the living room to discuss whether we wanted to start a food drive in our neighborhood. I thought it sounded like a great idea, and I immediately volunteered to start one. Mom and Dad, who volunteer very frequently at Second… Continue reading.
