Indianapolis has many worthy nonprofits that have special campaigns for Giving Tuesday, but a gift to Second Helpings helps more than 85 other organizations in our community.
All hot, nutritious meals from Second Helpings are provided free-of-charge. That means these organizations save thousands of dollars each year on food costs, and their clients get meals they need to help them change their lives in so many different ways.
Many of the 4,000 meals that are prepared and delivered each day go to places that you’ve probably already known for awhile:
HVAF: The largest nonprofit provider of comprehensive services for veterans in Indiana and help veterans become self-sufficient
The Julian Center: Empowering survivors of domestic and sexual violence and ending the generational cycle of violence
Dress for Success Indianapolis: promoting the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools
Damien Center: Indiana’s oldest and largest AIDS service organization which serves individuals affected and infected by HIV/AIDS
Boys & Girls Clubs of Indianapolis: providing a safe, educational and positive atmosphere to young people where they can prosper and reach their full potential
You can see all the places where Second Helpings meals are delivered HERE.
Every dollar you give has a ripple effect by helping so many other organizations which serve people who might otherwise go hungry. Each donation to Second Helpings $1.10 provides one meal to a person who needs it and supplies a food pantry with 1 pound of food.
Your gifts keep our vehicles fueled to rescue food and deliver meals. Each dollar keeps the ovens hot and ready to prepare more meals.
DONATE HERE to Second Helpings on Giving Tuesday and feed families, children and senior citizens all over Indianapolis.
