Hunger Relief

Today, 33 million people were hungry or at risk of becoming hungry. We’re not talking about “not having eaten since lunch.” We’re talking about not knowing where their next meal is coming from.

And we’re not talking about China or India or Bangladesh. Those 33 million hungry people are right here in the United States—including nearly a quarter million households in Indiana. About 40% of these hungry people are children.

We’re doing something about hunger in Central Indiana. Second Helpings prepares and delivers thousands of nutritious meals every day, six days a week, to feed people in shelters, day cares, schools, and other programs that feed hungry people, but don’t have the budgets to pay for food. And we do it at no charge.

When people are hungry, they can’t learn, can’t work, and can’t grow. Feeding hungry people doesn’t just fill bellies. It changes lives.
