Dear Sunil,

When Indianapolis was awarded the opportunity to host the 2012 Super Bowl, we knew this great community would work hard to make this unique opportunity so much more than a football game, and that’s exactly what is happening. The secret weapon that Indiana has successfully used in hosting major events in the past has been its people: people who volunteer their time even when their own schedules are very busy; people who prioritize community and civic involvement so that Indiana is a better place to live and work; people who want youth to be involved and have educational opportunities associated with major events; people who care about visitors’ opinions about Indiana. You are one of those people. People like you are extremely important to what led us to this point and will carry us successfully into the future.

As Shakespeare said, “What is a city but the people?” To that end, the 2012 Indianapolis Super Bowl Host Committee is launching a new campaign called XLVI Faces. This project will help answer the question of “what is Indianapolis” through showcasing its finest citizens . . . YOU!

We cordially invite you to be a part of this program by participating in photo shoots, video interviews, and potential appearances. Your images and commentary could be highlighted on a designated website, billboards, newspaper racks and more. Super Bowl visitors will read, see and hear what defines this community – through your story. You have a story about your commitment, engagement and desire to be involved in a positive community experience, and it is important for us to share it. We have selected our first ten XLVI Faces – including you - and in the coming months the remaining 36 Faces will be identified.

Along with selecting candidates like you, the public will have the opportunity to nominate XLVI Faces. The goal is to have Hoosiers sharing their unique experiences, passions, and dedications about Indiana.
Please let us know if you have any questions and if you would like to accept the offer. A response back by August 15 is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,

Allison Melangton
President and Chief Executive Officer
