Guest Blog: Grill 39 at the Renaissance

Last week I was at a sales training meeting for Herff Jones at the Renaissance in Carmel. One of my passions is great food! I was pleased to find the Renaissance excels in this area! The chicken marsala was perfect—juicy and just the right blend of wine in the roux. Asparagus was grilled with a nice crisp to it—again, cooked perfectly. I have never tasted a better canoli in my life! To top all of that, the service was superb.
You say, so why put this on the Second Helpings blog? Because… I discovered three of the chefs that evening were Second Helpings graduates! I volunteer at Second Helpings and my mom is the Director of Development and Marketing so I knew she would be thrilled to hear of my great experience. (Now, you really know why I am blogging!) I also learned that two of the chefs were actually instrumental in assisting in the opening of Grill 39 at the Renaissance.
Second Helpings is all about spreading the good word—Renaissance is definitely a great partner with their Culinary Job Training Program. Herff Jones is all about supporting the community, so they were excited to learn that while they were training their staff, they were also supporting a partner of Second Helpings. I encourage you to try out Grill 39 at the Renaissance in Carmel if you get a chance. Please tell Keith Mays, Anthony Abram, and Alex Abram that Chris Russell said “Good job! Keep it up!”
