It's been an unusually quiet winter around Second Helpings, despite all of the banging and clanging of construction. With the volunteers working hard at the Fairgrounds, those of us back at the ranch are beginning to feel their absence more and more every day. Good thing it's almost time for them to come home!

Telamon Corporation was the winner of the November Give Gleefully video contest. Along with bragging rights, Telamon was able to designate a local organization to receive a $5000 gift. They chose Second Helpings.

Preparing 3,000 meals five days a week is tough work, but the staff and volunteers of our hunger relief kitchen do just that. Can you imagine what they could do with a bigger and better kitchen? We can!

The life of a child is easy: wake-up, play, nap, repeat. At least that's how it should be, right? Of the nearly 50 million Americans who struggle with hunger every day, over 16 million are children. At Second Helpings we work every day to feed some of those hungry kids right here in Indianapolis, because kids should have more important things to worry about than being hungry.

Last year, the Indianapolis Racquet Club empowered their members to donate rice, pasta, tomato and dollars in support of our mission. They collected over 500 lbs. They're back again for another year of giving.
